Miguel & Vivien were previously pastors in the Church of the Open Bible in Parets del Vallés, Barcelona and also the Church of Calle Selva de Mar in the city of Barcelona.

They are currently working in South Eastern Spain among the population of Los Nietos, a small fishing village on the shores of the Mar Menor.  Initially they suffered suspicion and animosity from the villagers, as the locals thought they belonged to a religious sect.  They have now gained their trust and both Vivian and Miguel play an active part in village life.  Miguel was even chosen to be executive secretary of the Neighbours Association.

They established a point of mission in 2003 and their first contacts were a group of local youngsters, with whom they started a youth group called Club MIVI.  This group still meet every Saturday, in addition, every Sunday both adults and youngsters gather to worship together.  Initially the meetings took place in Vivien & Miguel's house and now take place in the newly built Alpha Centre.

Miguel and Vivien also work among the English Speaking population, providing translation services and also running Spanish classes.  Vivien is English, though she has lived in Spain for the past 28 years.  Miguel is Spanish but speaks very good English, as he lived in the country for several years when they were first married.

In 2005 they decided to try link up with English speaking Christians in the area and to that end they placed an advert in the local Supermarket.  This was seen by a couple Rene & Jimmy Martin who frequently visit the area and who had been organising an informal worship meeting each Sunday under the palm trees at Caravanning La Manga (the local campsite).  The two couples joined forces and over time the ministry on the Campsite grew.  Due to some difficulties this group had to stop meeting, however, it appears God had other plans….

Miguel received a prophesy some 30 years ago that he would pastor a huge English Speaking Church in this area….just last year that word started to be fulfilled.

Rene received  a prophetic word in 2005 that they should start to build a centre for them to meet in.  Many prayers have been answered and many generous donations of both time and money have been received to see the fruition of this project.

Meetings in English started at the Alpha Centre in October 2006 and there were 25 at the first gathering….only God knows what we will be doing next year!
