Things to Do in La Manga and the Mar Menor

La Manga Club, famous for its sporting facilities is only 10 mins away. It has 3 top class 18 hole golf courses, a football centre that attracts premiership teams for winter training, tennis centre, mountain bike hire, hotel and spa. There are 7 other golf courses within a 30 minute drive to cater for all handicap levels and more being constructed.

There are also numerous spas available in the area. Within a 10 min drive you will find the La Manga Club Spa www.spa.lamangaclub.com and also, just at the bottom of the La Manga "Strip", the Entremares Hotel Balneario Marino www.entremares.com, which has a variety of spa treatments available. It also has four 35 degree Mediterranean seawater swimming pools. Slightly further a field (30mins) is Thalasia in San Pedro del Pinatar, a new spa centre with warm water pools, jets, treatments, gym and restaurant.

The Balneario in Archena is well worth a visit it has open air and indoor spa pools, saunas, steam room, flotation pools and much more.

If you wish to hire bikes during your stay they can be delivered to you accommodation. The following companies provide this service. Please email them to book in advance. You will need to hire the bikes for several days to get free delivery. These are businesses are English so you don't have to worry if you don't speak Spanish.

Outside school holidays we can arrange for guided mountain bike trips for groups of 6 or more. During school holidays you can rent mountain bikes and explore the Calblanque Natural Park which borders La Manga Club golf resort.

The Mediterranean sea and the Cabo de Palos area of Spain offers some fantastic, dives and is home to the famous Islas Hormigas Marine park which is considered the best area to scuba dive in Spain. It is a well established breeding ground for the typical local fish such as Groupers, Barracudas, jacks, Moray Eels, Common Dentex, Tuna,Eagle rays and other such marine life as Octopus, and even sunfish! With over 10 local dive sites of interest to choose from & all only a short minibus or boat ride away you will be spoilt for choice. there are also some fantastic wreck dives.

Spanish Lessons

Are you learning Spanish and want to get some extra tuition or just practice your conversational skills? You could get out on the water in the morning and take Spanish classes in the afternoon. We know a couple of local Spanish teachers who we would recommend. Both speak fluent English so you can contact them directly via email to make arrangements.

Maria Linares lives about 10 mins away by car. She teaches both group and private lessons.

Andres Lopez Mateo lives in Los Belones just 5 mins away. Teaches private lessons normally during the afternoon.
