"We had a lovely two weeks holiday, very relaxing.
Spent most of the time at the beach ... and at the pool, which was lovely by the way.
Our girls Katie 6 and Millie 3 are still referring to your villa as "our new home"!
They loved it.
We can't compliment you enough on the villa, we felt at home really quickly and felt very safe
especially with our Spanish neighbours and their canine security guards!"

A Allinson & family

The House

This spacious and modern 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom property is situated at the edge of Estrella de Mar with views across open countryside and the Mar Menor.  The villa is very well appointed and spacious internally and also has as attractive patio garden and balcony.  The property is air-conditioned throughout and has a fully equipped kitchen.

The house is very well setup with a barbeque, patio seating and sun loungers, seating is also available on the balcony.  The house has a designated parking space outside the front gates on a very quiet street.  WIFI is available from a cafe / restaurant just 2 mins walk away.

We run a watersports company called Aqua Adicta offering dinghy sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. We live just 10 mins from the property therefore you can be assured that if you have any problems we are just around the corner. Plus of course if you want to do some watersports there is a very professional and reliable company just a short drive away!

The Villages - Estrella de Mar and Los Urrutias

Estrella de Mar is set in a rural location which is surrounded by farmland and open countryside.  It is beautifully laid out with parks and gardens, wide streets and typical Spanish architecture; no building stands more than two stories high.  The palm-lined promenade with views across the Mar Menor to La Manga makes a lovely walk anytime but especially in early evening.

The beach is only 2 minutes walk from the house.  The beach club has a large swimming pool, tennis courts, table tennis, mini golf and a multi sport area for basketball and football.  These are free for your use with just a small charge for tennis.

There are four restaurants and a cafe in this small village all are located within 5 mins walk.

The neighbouring village of Los Urrutias is only 5 minutes walk away and has a supermarket, marina, hardware shop, newsagent, several cafes and restaurants and a weekly market.

The Local Area

There are many beautiful beaches in the area; the Calblanque Natural Park is located 10mins away by car and has some of the best beaches in Spain.  Los Alcazares is also 10 mins away and has great beaches plus lots of shops and restaurants.

The fishing port of Cabo de Palos is just 15 mins away and has lovely walks, beaches, restaurants, cafes and shops.

The historic cities of Cartagena (20km) and Murcia (30km) are just a short drive away, both cities have much to offer with attractive architecture, historical sites, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Activities

The Mar Menor is a huge salt-water lagoon, the ideal location for all types of watersports and very safe for swimming.  Its calm shallow waters shelve very gently from beach so it is ideal for small children.  The Mar Menor is the warmest sea in Europe the temperature exceeds 30 degrees during the summer.

There are many golf courses within easy reach, the closest is a 5 minute drive.  Information on lots of activities is available at the villa including: hiking, thermal baths, golf, diving, bike hire and mountain bike routes, watersports, horse riding, go-karting, bowling, paint-balling etc.

Transport

Murcia airport (MJV) is only 15 minutes away and Alicante (ALC) airport is 1 hour. Both airports are served by many low cost and airlines making it easy for you to get here from your local airport.

Car rental is recommended to make the most of the area, however airport transfers can be arranged if you prefer not to drive.  Buses run from Los Urrutias to Los Alcazares, Cabo de Palos and Cartagena (summer only). There is also a train which runs from Los Nietos to Cartagena (all year).

We have a driver who can take you on trips to visit the many beautiful beaches and places of interest in the area for example: Cartagena, Cabo de Palos, Los Alcazares, Murcia, Calblanque Natural Park. The area is very flat and therefore ideal to explore by bike, these can be hired and delivered to the house (you will need to arrange this before your holiday).

Further details on transport may be found here

Brad can pick you up from the airport and also take you on trips around the area if you would rather not drive.

The Swimming Pool

The pool is situated 5 minutes walk from the house.  It is just behind the promenade and next to a café/restaurant.

The pool is for the village of Estrella de Mar and is not open to the general public, we provide you with an electronic key to get in. Many houses in the village have pools of their own so it doesn't tend to get overcrowded.  There is a lifeguard on duty during high summer.

We specifically chose not to purchase a property which had a pool next door as you would get noise all day from children playing in the pool, in fact this can continue well into the night!
