Kayak Safaris
The lagoon of the Mar Menor has many islands and beaches which can only be accessed via the water. Since the water is very shallow in many areas kayaks provide the ideal vehicle to explore. We will take you on a an excursion adapted to suit your fitness and ability. We can also go bird watching or snorkelling (depending upon the time of year).
Our Kayaks
We use the "sit on" style of kayak suitable for those new to kayaking and also fun for those who have been before. We can run private trips which are scheduled on demand, we also run a number of open enrolment trips throughout the year. the maximum group size is 12.
The kayaks are very stable and comfortable and the double seaters are particularly suitable for parents with children. Safaris are suitable for children age 5 and above. Children under the age of 16 should normally be accompanied by an adult, however, exceptions are possible.
Safari Routes
The exact route of a Kayak Safari will be determined on the day depending on wind and weather conditions. The amount of time spent paddling and snorkelling is entirely up to you. We take all our trips at your pace! Various other destinations and itineraries are also possible. Experienced kayakers can take a trip to the Calblanque National Park or onto the Mediterranean.

Throughout the season we regularly run Island Kayak Safaris where you can join in with a group. For our next date please see the side banner on our home page.
The safari involves some instruction on the beach and then an excursion to one of the Islands* on the Mar Menor with a chance to go snorkelling and explore the wildlife. We provide further instruction while you are on the water as necessary.
The Kayak Safari is 3 hours long and runs from 10am-1pm. The cost is 35 euros per person (40 euros during high season) and all places must be booked and paid for in advance. The event is open to a maximum of 12 participants.
This event is suitable for virtually anyone** who is reasonably fit and active. We have a variety of single and double kayaks and encourage everyone to have a go in both types. The singles require more stamina the doubles some level of teamwork and coordination!
If you can’t make these dates and would like to get out on the water, explore the area and learn about the wildlife why not book a kayak safari of your own. We run private safaris for individuals, couples, families or small groups.
Notes:
*The exact route taken will depend upon the wind direction that day.**The minimum age for these open events is 8 years. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult with whom they can share a double kayak.
